Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Application for Students with Disabilities for studying PhD and MPhil

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for students with disabilities studying Ph.D and M.Phil courses:-

UGC is the nodal agency for implementing the scheme “Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for students with disabilities”. UGC notifies the scheme by releasing suitable advertisements in the press. The fellowship has been offered to the students with disabilities for pursuing higher educatioin leading to degrees such as M.Phil. and Ph.D.

The total number of fellowships to be awarded to the students with disabilities under the scheme is 200 every year. There is a provision of reservation of 15% for SC students and 7 ½ % for ST students for award og fellowships respectively under the scheme of “Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for students with disabilities”.
In case, the number of candidates exceeds the number of available awards, the UGC will select the candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidat6es in their Post Graduation examination

Eligibility for the Fellowship:-

  1. Any student with disabilities who has been admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. degrees in a University or academic institution by completing the required formalities for admission in that University or academic institution is eligible for the award of fellowship, subject to provision of the scheme as per the advertisement of UGC. The candidates must get himself/herself registered for M.Phil/Ph.D. at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of two years from the receipt of award letter. This period is not extendable. However, the actual payment of fellowship will be made with effect from the date of joining only.
  2. After two years, if the progress in the research works of the awardee is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years as senior Research Fellowship (SRF). The research work will be assessed by a three member committee set up by the University. The committee will consist of the Supervisor, Head of the Department and one outside expert in the subject. JRF may be terminated in case the progress of the candidate is not found satisfactory by the committee. The SRF shall be sanctioned on year to year basis on the recommendation of the Supervisor of the candidate duly accepted/rejected by the Head of the Department and finally approved by the Vice-Chancellor. The total period of award of JRF and SRF shall not exceed a period of five years. The fellowship is paid from the date of registration of the students in M.Phil/Ph.D. course.
  3. The students with disabilities once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to any other benefits from Central or State Government or any other body like UGC offering similar benefit to avoid duplication and increase coverage. Only those doing regular and full time M.Phil/Ph.D. course of a University/Research Institution shall be eligible for the fellowship. Employees of any University/College/Educational Institution/Central/State/UT Government shall be excluded from availing Fellowship, even if they are on Study Leave or EOL to pursue the M.Phil./Ph.D. course.

How to Apply for Sheela Kanoria Foundation scholarships for Girls Students

Female Scholarship Programme:-

The Sheela Kanoria Foundation grants need based scholarships to deserving female students for pursuing their higher studies and vocational courses as follows:-
The Important Features of the scholarship:
  • The scholarship is only for female students.
  • It is for academic or vocational studies.
  • The scholarship is need based, but applicants are screened by four parameters namely financial status, ambition to achieve, commitment to excel and talent.
  • The Sheela Kanoria Foundation arranges periodical counseling to guide and assist the students successfully pursuing their studies.
Eligibility Criteria for the scholarships:
  • Any female Indian citizen pursuing under or post graduate studies in West Bengal.
  • Minimum 75% and above at HS/ISC/CBSC or 55% at undergraduate level for post graduate students.
  • Extracurricular activities and social service would be an added advantage.
  • Students of fine arts/sports and other field are exempted from the minimum marks criteria.
  • The total family income (from all sources) of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 1.20 Lac per year.
  • Continuance of receiving the scholarship by any beneficiary will certainly depend on her successful performance.
Selection Process
  • The application must be made on the prescribed downloaded form only.
  • Short listed candidates based on the above criteria will be called for final interview by a selection committee whose decision shall be final and binding on all.
Amount & Mode of Payment
    • The amount is determined based on the actual need for the course.
    • The maximum scholarship amount is Rs. 25, 000/- per year. It is payable on a quarterly basis directly to the bank account of the beneficiary and is subject to periodical evaluation by the management.
    • The decision of the selection committee with regard to scholarship is final and binding.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • The scholarships are open for studies in India and for Indian nationals only.

  • Candidate should be a student of 1st year of Graduate Engineering or MBBS courses or 1st year of Masters degree in Geology/Geophysics or MBA. The scholarship shall be admissible only for pursuing full time regular courses by ISC/CBSE/MCI/AICTE/UGC/Association of India Universities/State Education Boards/State Government/Central Government.

  • Students pursuing four years Engineering/MBBS courses and Two years Masters course in Business Administration & Masters degree in Geology/ Geophysics are eligible.

  • Candidate should have obtained minimum 60% marks in 12th class for Engineering and MBBS disciplines. Similarly 60% marks are necessary in graduation for P.G. Courses i.e. Geology/Geophysics/MBA. Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA/CGPA) of minimum 6.0 in 10 points scale of grading system.


  • Gross annual income of family of the candidate from all sources should not be more than Rs 4.50 lakhs per annum (i.e. Rs.37,500/- per month).



  • The final list of the scholarships beneficiaries shall be posted on website  www.ongcindia.com by the second week of December of every year.

How to Apply for National Talent Scholarship for the students of Agriculture

National Talent Scholarship (NTS) for the students studying Undergraduate courses in Agriculture:

The National Talent Scholarship (NTS) has been offered at the rate of Rs.1,000/- per month to all undergraduate students admitted in the Agricultural University located outside their State of domicile.

The Scholarship will be awarded for a period of one year from the
date the student actually takes admission in the Agricultural University as
recognized by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for pursuing
Undergraduate degree in agriculture.
An eligible student for the scholarship should not accept any other financial assistance/scholarship during the course of undergraduate study.
The value of scholarship shall be @ Rs.1000/- p.m. at present.

How to Apply for GP Birla Educational Foundation Scholarship Application

Information about GP Birla Educational Foundation Scholarship:-

The Scholarship is offered to meritorious and needy students. The Trust proposes to grant Scholarships to meritorious students, male or female, passed class XII examination and have secured 80% marks or more from State Board or 85% or more from Central Board or have secured rank in top 15000 in AIEEE/JEE/AIPMT Tests and are in need of financial help to pursue further studies.
Further studies may be in Science, Humanities, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Commerce or Law streams in any recognized University in India.
Preference will be given to applicant domiciled in West Bengal. The decision of the Expert Panel of the Trust will be final. Applications may be forwarded through the Head of the Institution from which the Student has passed Class XII or where he/she has taken admission.
