How to Apply for Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship for Students Studying Sanskrit

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan invites on-line application from the regular students  studying  Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit  as  a  main  or  optional  subject  in  any recognized Sanskrit Pathashala/Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya /Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya in traditional stream or School/College/University  in Modern  Stream  pursuing Purva-Madhyama(1st  year)/9th standard, Purva- Madhyama(2nd year)/10th standard, Uttar-Madhyama/Prakshastri(1st year) /11th standard,Uttar- Madhyama/Prakshastri(2nd  year)/12th  standard,  Shastri/  B.A  (1st/2nd/3rd year), Acharya/M.A(1st/2nd  year), Vidyawaridhi/Ph.D. or equivalent for the purpose of award of Scholarship to its students under the scheme for Development of Sanskrit Education. Please note that number of scholarships will be depended upon availability of the funds and the list of awardees will be prepared based on a cut-off percentage of marks obtained by the students.


Only on-line application will be accepted. No need of sending any documents by post or other means.

Starting and Closing date for online application:
30.07.2017 to 10.09.2017

Eligibility criteria for scholarship is as follows :-

1. Student must have obtained the following percentage of marks or equivalent grade in Sanskrit/ Pali/Prakrit and in aggregate (all subjects) in the required qualifying examination :-

General Category - 60%
Other backward Category - 55%
S.C/S.T/Divine Body Category - 50%

2. Student should also pursue Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit in the current academic year.

For on-line application, the following scanned documents need to be uploaded in the appropriate place:-

  The relevant mark-sheet (for details please visit www.scholarship.rsks.in)

The bank pass-book details where the applicant has an account in his/her name ( the first page of the passbook where details along with the photograph is available)
  Aadhar card of the applicant.
Caste/Category certificate of reserved category (S.C/S.T/O.B.C/Divine Body) from the appropriate authority in the name of the applicant.

Important Instruction:-

·        Bank account should be linked with Aadhar number.
·        Applicant should not be a recipient of any other Scholarship /Stipends during the academic year.
·        All the applications sent before the issuance of the circular/notice will not be considered.

·        The Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan reserves the right to make such changes in the terms and conditions as it may considered necessary .The Sansthan also reserves the right to reject an application after due scrutiny .The decision of the Sansthan in this regard will be final and binding.

How to Apply for Fresh Pre Matric and Post Matric Scholarship in National Scholarship Portal-Step by Step Guide:-

 

At first log on to official website of National Scholarship Portal of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India - http://www.scholarships.gov.in

 

If you are applying for first time, you have to register yourself first by clicking “new user? Register” button.


Read the instruction carefully before applying for any scholarship.

Now, click on “continue” button.

Choose your state.

Select pre-matric or post-matric from dropdown list.

Write the captcha code correctly.

Fill all the fields carefully and click on “register” button.

Now, you will get an OTP (one time password) in your registered mobile number. Write it on required field to verify your mobile number.

Then you will get Application number and password. For first time your password will be your date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy), then you can change your password.

If you want to apply for renewal click on “Apply for Renewal” button.

 

Log in with your Application Id and password (Date of birth – dd/mm/yyyy).

 

If you forger your application id or password please click on “Forget application id” or “Forger password” button.

 

After logging in you can apply for renewal.

How to Apply for UGC National Fellowship for OBC Students

National Fellowship for OBC Students from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, India:-


Government of India had launched a Central Sector scheme namely, National
Fellowship during the financial year 2014-15 to increase opportunities for the
students of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for pursuing higher education leading to their acquiring degrees such as M.Phil. and Ph.D.

The scheme aims at providing financial assistance to the OBC students in obtaining quality higher education leading to degrees such as M.Phil and Ph.D in universities, research institutions and scientific institutions.

The scheme is designed to provide a total number of 300 Junior Research Fellowships per year from the year 2014-15 onwards and 300 Senior Research Fellowships during 2016-17 to Other Backward Class (OBC) students. The UGC is the nodal agency for implementing the scheme and notifies the scheme through advertisements in the media at a suitable date. The scheme covers all universities/institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Fellowships are awarded to research students pursuing M. Phil. and Ph.D. The rate of fellowship for JRF level is Rs. 25000 per month and for SRF level, it is Rs. 28000 per month.

Implementing Agency:

The UGC is the nodal agency for implementing the scheme and notifies the scheme by releasing advertisements in the Press at a suitable date.

Eligibility of the Fellowship:

(i) Any student belonging to Other Backward Class (OBC) category who has been admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. course in a University or academic institution after
completing the required formalities of admission in that University or academic
institution is eligible for the award of Fellowship subject to provisions of the  scheme as per the advertisement of UGC.

(ii) After two years, if the progress in the research work of the awardee is found
satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years as Senior Research Fellow (SRF). The research work will be assessed as per the
UGC norms. The total period of award of JRF and SRF shall not exceed a period
of 5 years. The fellowship will be paid from the date of registration of the student in the M.Phil./Ph.D. course.

(iii) Students belonging to Other Backward Class (OBC) category once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to any other benefits from Central or State Government or any other body like UGC offering similar
benefit to avoid duplication and increase coverage. Only those, doing regular and full time M.Phil./Ph.D. course of a University/Research Institution shall be eligible for the fellowship. Employees of any University/College/Educational Institution/Central/State/UT Government shall be excluded from availing Fellowship, even if they are on Study Leave or EOL to pursue the M.Phil./Ph.D.
course

How to Apply for the National Fellowship for OBCs:-

I. UGC is the nodal agency for implementing the scheme.

ii. UGC will notify the scheme by inserting suitable advertisement in the press.

iii. UGC will implement the scheme once it is approved by the Government.

iv. It would be sufficient for an OBC candidate to have passed the Post
Graduation Examination for being eligible for the National Fellowship.

v. There is no restriction to the effect that a OBC candidate should have
cleared NET/SLET examination for being eligible for receiving the Fellowship.

vi. UGC will give one month's time to the candidate for applying for the Fellowship.

vii. UGC shall disburse the scholarship amount to the candidates through Bank
Smart Cards.

viii. UGC will also issue a booklet containing all the details about the scheme, for
the benefit of prospective candidates.

ix. UGC will evolve its own mechanism for verifying the genuineness of the OBC
certificates furnished by the candidates in order to eliminate the possibility of students availing of the Fellowship on fake certificates.

x. The decision of the UGC in regard to awarding the Fellowship shall be final and no appeal could be filed against it.

xi. In case the numbers of fellowships so allocated to a State/UT are not fully
utilized, due to non-availability of eligible candidates, the UGC will allocate
the slots amongst the other States/UTs where the number of eligible candidates is much more than the slots allocated to that State/UT. A Committee consisting of the representatives of UGC and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will take this decision.
